We specialize in classic, popular, and trendy dancewear and shoes for all sizes and ages and expert one-on-one pointe shoe fittings by appointment. All dance shoes must be fitted properly—since they are not like street shoes—to ensure a safe and comfortable dancing experience.
Whether you are new to the dance world or an experienced “dance mom,” Ballera is here to help you find the right dance and active wear for Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theater, Cheer, Gymnastics, Hip-Hop, Praise Dance, and everything in between!
The founder and owner of Ballera Dance is Debbie Turelli, from Brookfield, WI, who has more than 30 years experience in retail and a passion for the Arts. Located in the Brookfield area, Ballera specializes in classic, popular and trendy dancewear and shoes for ballet, pointe, tap, jazz and hip hop. Anything you need to enhance your performance can be found at Ballera.
Debbie Turelli shares, “Ballera has motivated me to keep educating myself and my employees to reach greater heights. It is a dream come true. As a Mom, I wanted my daughter to learn dance so that she would become more confident and outgoing. It is so important to be dressed appropriately no matter what style of dance you prefer. My employees are all well trained and have over 75 years combined experience in dance and retail, giving Ballera an outstanding reputation for pointe shoe fitting. We serve over 100 studios and teams in Wisconsin.”
I’m a former dancer who loves helping customers of all ages find their perfect fit! When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family (husband, 2 teenagers, and 2 cavalier King Charles spaniels). My hobbies include traveling, reading and hiking. Working at Ballera is so much fun because I get to meet people every day who love dance as much as I do!
Celeste has been dancing before she could walk, acquiring her first pair of ballet slippers at 18 months old! She spent her formative years at Central Wisconsin School of Ballet, training in Vaganova. She went on to get a BA in Dance from University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point, broadening her knowledge in every style. She is known for her love of fitting pointe shoes, fun social media posts and bringing energy and laughter to the store. Celeste frequently performs in local theater productions all over the Milwaukee area and loves sharing her passion for dance and performing with the customers.
Alysha is a professional dancer and dance teacher with a Bachelor's in dance from Loyola University Chicago. Alysha started dancing when she was 2 years old and hasn't stopped since, she loves to surround her whole life around it! Her favorite part about working at Ballera is meeting all of the dancers and dance teachers in the area. She also loves being able to help anyone find and fit all of the dance apparel and shoes they may need!
Katie’s favorite part of working at Ballera is helping fit dancers for pointe shoes. Katie has been dancing for 16 years and is an alumni of Mainstage Academy and the BrayBallet Company. She has 7 years of experience on pointe, gaining first hand experience in the world of pointe shoes. She deeply understands the importance of a proper fitting pointe shoe and all the necessities needed to be successful in dance. Katie currently teaches ballet at the YMCA for young beginning dancers and currently dances at her old studio to help with showcases. When she is not around the dance world, Katie enjoys being outside kayaking and hiking, and also helping her community as a firefighter/EMT.
As a retired professional dancer who worked in casinos, cruise ships, summer seasons, dinner theatre and pantomimes, working at Ballera allows me to stay involved with dance. I love fitting pointe shoes and helping students fix shoe problems. I’ve worked here for 8 years and have made some lovely friends. The staff are warm, friendly and it’s a joy to come to work.
